Interoperability Between Open Source and Proprietary Software
In an interview with The Register published January 21, OSA President Anthony Gold mentioned interoperability between open source, closed source and proprietary software, as well as the names of some big firms known for their proprietary products.
Later that day, noted columnist and blogger Glyn Moody from ComputerWorld UK picked up on Gold's comments for a critical posting that generated a flurry of discussion, particularly a supportive posting the next day by The 451 Group's Jay Lyman. Moody offered Gold an opportunity to expand on his thoughts in a follow-up interview posted February 9.
OSA Alert checked in with to discover how commonly members must integrate open source and proprietary applications during normal dealings with clients, and also with Glyn Moody.
